I love how Ubisoft is creating short films for a select few of their upcoming game franchises. I know some people question the idea of spending money on types of projects like this, but I say go for it! Film is one of my passions and I love seeing both mediums coming together.

Ghost Recon: Alpha is looking sweet. Love the “dirty / grungy” look that the short film is taking. Makes it feel real and not so much futuristic and fictional.

I am crossing my fingers that one day I will be able to direct a short film such as this.

It just doesn’t get any better than this folks. Blizzard releases, what I presume to be, their StarCraft II launch trailer. Blizzard’s cinematic team is one of the best in the business. Now I am not sure if Blizzard cut this trailer in-house or had an outside agency do it for them, nonetheless it is something to marvel at.

Juan from ONE Productions needs your support. He is the guy who has created some amazing COD animated shorts as well as having completed two projects for XBox Live’s Halo Waypoint:  Halo – Evolutions: Midnight In The Hear of Midlothian and Halo – Evolutions: The Return.

The video above is a teaser for his last COD animated short, however he was busy with the Halo projects and never got around to finishing it. I think you should head over to his youtube page (linked above) and leave a comment telling him he must finish WARFARE! It will benefit us all. I promise.

But today, Journey has a new meaning.

Its the title of the new game in development by ThatGameCompany.  We have always been a fan of their work so its nice to see that they continue to innovate and expand their game experiences.  floW and Flower were great games that expanded upon some of Jenova Chen’s original ideas to get away from the standard and do something new.

Journey adds (to my knowledge) a multiplayer aspect to the beautiful and simple games that are the signature of ThatGameCompany.  Jenova describes the game as literally a Journey in which color, symbols, and beauty are the key focuses.  He was inspired by a lunch he had with astronaut Charles F. Bolden, Jr. in which Bolden talked about the “awe towards the unknown.”

The images so far look great, and it sounds like the game mechanics are only two buttons, which compared to some of the games I’ve been playing (Dragon Age: Origins), will be a nice relief for my mind and fingers.

Anyway, we wish ThatGameCompany the best of luck in the continued development of Journey and maybe we’ll get a shot to do something similar to what we have done for them in the past.

Man, I love me some TRON. I just love the look and feel of this world. This trailer has it all. An intense Lightcycle chase scene (with a Recognizer added to the mix). As well as some amazing parkour fighting action.
