Remember SimCity? Not 2000, not 3000, not 4 – but plain ol’ SimCity – the one where you had to run it out of a DOS prompt, and had a choice of three squares – Commercial – “C” – Residential – “R” or Industrial – “I”. Of course, there were other things to place like police, fire and power plants, but the game was hard. You had to be a CPA to make money without cheating and if your R’s and C’s got too close to your I’s, you’d end up with a combination of Gary Indiana and East St. Louis. I for one loved the challenge. I’ve played the later versions of the game but never really got into them like I did the original, they have so much detail but are inconsistent, like parks make happy citizens, but don’t curtail pollution.
So this is my idea, which would be the most complex and involved game ever made - I’d call it – SimCity UTLIMATE. Imagine this - you get a plot of land to build your city (pick it on the giant map), make your money, etc -however, you can expand, build relations, take over, crush, be friendly, war, ally (there will need to be a military function like risk or Warcraft) - with other cities in a MMO format, city vs city, group of cities working together, etc. Your character gains points in a multitude of categories - giving you powers, status and bonuses. Once the initial lands have been goobled up, a higherachy will be established naturally - new players can be given control of established cities by the “president”, and rewarded for the success, you can move up in the ranks or revolt and take up as much land as you can. Basically it would try to mimic the world and how it operates as closely as possible, with players ”in charge” of a small town, a large city, a group of cities, the country, but with limited geographical resources, so much colaboration would be needed between cities/countries to grow and flurish. Players could even start out at the “sims” level, run for mayor, governer, president! You get the idea – Imagine a simulation game running 24-7 and mobile text alerts asking what your next move is? CRAZY. I for one would love to see how this would work, might be impossible, but the challenege is set! What do you think?

I would buy it
HAhahah. I used to play Sim City a ton. I remember one random night I miracously got my city to not burn itself in a pheonixy blaze so I stayed up till 4 am playing it until an alian came and attacked it out of no where.
Ever since I’ve really like fired………
If this game were real, I would open a saloon and get virtually wasted with my friends.
